Nambucca Heads, Scotts Head, Macksville and Bowraville

Nambucca Heads is just 15 minutes drive from accommodation at Aquarelle Bed and Breakfast south along the Pacific Highway. A pleasant stop along the way for the mid-morning coffee and snack is the Headland Café in the small community of Valla Beach.

Macksville sits beside the banks of the Nambucca River a further 10 minutes down the highway. A few kilometers south of Macksville is the turn-off to Scotts Head.

Bowraville is a small village about 10 kilometers west of both Nambucca Heads and Macksville that provides a stopping point on a scenic loop road away from the Pacific Highway between the two towns.

Unique handcrafted items, many by local and regional artisans can be found in the numerous shops and galleries both in the valley and on the plateau, making great souvenirs or gifts.

Nambucca Heads hosts to a number of significant events throughout the year.  These events offer Aquarelle guests a variety of entertainment to add to experiences of the coast and hinterland.

  • Volkswagen Spectacular in August each year - 3 days of Volkwagens of every variety and age descend on Nambucca Heads to enjoy the company of like -minded people and show-off painstaking restorations in the main street. .
  • Hot Rods Show and Shine - mid-year Nambucca Heads hosts hot rod heaven for the annual gathering of customised car enthusiasts. 350 custom-built cars fill the main street for the show and shine spectacular
  • GT Falcon Club Clubs from NSW and QLD have been meeting at Valla Beach for over 20 years. Each year roughly 120 cars provide a show &shine in the main street of Nambucca Heads.

Markets are a favourite for all the family, particularly if you are staying in Nambucca Heads or Urunga. Since the markets are regular events accommodation can be selected to suit a visit to any of these occasions.
